As we begin to safely gather again and celebrate all our special occasions, we HIGHLY recommend you place your custom cake order as soon as possible.
We now recommend ordering at least 1 week in advance
While we can accommodate our Basic Cake designs in less time, custom designs are being limited weekly due to demand. Please call or come in for more detailed information: 847-437-1234
Designing Your Custom Cake
Choose Your Size
Whether you are feeding 8 people or 80, we have cake sizes to fit your needs! When deciding on a size, keep in mind that our cake servings are liberally estimated so you’ll get more slices if your guests want “just a sliver.”

Sheet Cakes • 2 & 3 Layers
- 2 Layer Sheet Cakes serve 15 to 84
- 3 Layer Sheet Cakes serve 30 to 100
- 2 Layer Sheet Cakes have 1 Filling Layer
- 3 Layer Sheet Cakes have 2 Fillings Layers

Choose Your Cake Flavor
Each of our delicate doughs is light, fluffy, and fork tender, containing no additives or preservatives. We follow Grandpa’s original cake recipes, using the highest quality ingredients including eggs, milk, sugar, cake flour, and vegetable shortening.
Yellow: One of our most popular doughs, this is a buttery and moist cake with a touch of lemon to brighten the flavor
Devil's Food: Not too dark, enjoy a medium cocoa flavored cake that's light and tender
Half & Half: Can't decide between yellow and chocolate? Get a layer of each!
White: A firm yet tender dough with a pure vanilla flavor
Marble: White & devil’s food cake batters swirled together for a random blend of vanilla and chocolate
Funfetti: Our delicious vanilla white cake freckled with colorful sprinkles
Graham Cracker: Graham crumbs & honey swirled into our cake mix create a warm, slightly sweet flavor
Banana: Real mashed bananas are mixed into the batter for an authentic, moist banana cake
Red Velvet: Moist, reddish colored cake with notes of chocolate
Carrot: Ground carrots, chopped pecans, crushed pineapple, and a dash of spice combine for this classic cake
Angel Food: Made with whipped egg whites and no yolks, this delicate dough is fluffy & sweet
Choose Your Filling
When deciding on a filling, please note that cakes with Classic Fillings, Preserves, and Flavored Creams are the easiest to cut and serve. Fruit fillings have a tendency to fall apart when you cut them. Use a long, sharp, clean serrated knife and avoid cutting thin slices. Even if the pieces get a bit messy — don’t worry— the taste is still great!

Choose Your Icing
When it comes to decorated cakes, the outside is just as important as the inside. We offer several options so you’re guaranteed to find the perfect icing to pair with your cake and filling. Our frosting varieties include the following:
Buttercream
- Smooth & Creamy; on the sweet side
- Vanilla Flavor
- Great for cakes sitting out all day
- Best served at room temperature
- Required on Tiered Cakes, 2D & 3D Cakes, as well as designs with Colored Icing
Whipped Cream
- Light, fluffy, and not too sweet
- Vanilla Flavor
- Requires Refrigeration
- ALL whipped cream cakes MUST BE WRAPPED IN A PAPER BAND and the sides coated in Coconut Crunch, Sprinkles, or another Garnish
Chocolate Buttercream
- Smooth & Creamy; on the sweet side
- Delicious Cocoa Flavor
- Great for cakes sitting out all day
- Buttercream is best served at room temperature so if you store your cake in the fridge, let it sit for 20 minutes before serving
Chocolate Whipped Cream
- Light, fluffy, and not too sweet
- Delicious Cocoa Flavor
- Requires Refrigeration
- ALL whipped cream cakes MUST BE WRAPPED IN A PAPER BAND and the sides coated in Coconut Crunch, Sprinkles, or another Garnish
Fudge
- Thick and creamy
- Rich chocolate flavor
- Can sit out all day
- Fudge is best served at room temperature so if you store your cake in the fridge, let it sit for 20 minutes before serving
Cream Cheese
- Rich and Creamy
- Sweet and tangy cream cheese flavor
- Requires refrigeration
- Cannot be colored
- Pairs perfectly with Carrot and Red Velvet Cakes
Poured Ganache
- Ganache is a thin chocolate icing that's melted and poured over buttercream or chocolate buttercream
- Available in White (can be colored) or Chocolate
- Available dripping down the sides or coating the entire cake
- Must be done with buttercream icings only
Fondant
- Fondant Iced Cakes must be ordered with at least ONE WEEK'S NOTICE
- Require a deposit at the time of ordering
- Very sweet with a doughy texture
- All fondant cakes are crumb coated with Buttercream first.
- NO REFRIGERATED FILLINGS; you may choose from our preserves or flavored buttercreams
Coconut Cake Crunch
Our homemade Coconut Cake Crunch is used on whipped cream iced cakes, as well as large buttercream iced sheet cakes. It has a slightly sweet coconut flavor and adds a bit of texture to the cake. For those concerned about allergens, cake crunch may contain trace amounts of nuts. Substitutions are available so please inquire about alternatives if you have allergy or taste concerns.
A European Touch
Liqueurs add an extra burst of flavor when drizzled over your cake layers, and they're especially delicious when blended with whipped cream!
